Marriott is an established hotel brand that has now nudged in on the vacation resort arena. We went to find out how they fared.

Making a booking online How easy is it to make a booking online or to amend an existing booking. How flexible are the search options? .

More than 50 resorts

Online reservations or telephone bookings are both options for vacation packages although other deals, such as vacation rentals, needed to be booked via the sister site, Marriott.com.

Quality and quantity of images Are there enough images on the site to whet your appetite and are they of a decent quality? Are the photos too small? Do they give me a good idea of the resort inside and out?.

There is a clear navigation system consisting of resorts (urban, beach and so on), packages, ownership deals and more. Once in each section there are clearly labeled filters.

Although the site includes glossy photos, the pages loaded surprisingly quickly.

Our one gripe is that some pages load very low down and contain an empty space above the text. This space is taken up by large photographs on subsequent pages but those without photos end up loading at a point that is so low down you need to scroll down to read it. This gives the impression that the page has failed to load.
